personally, im an athesist, well not really, im not "anti" god or religion but i dont have any faith in any religion or god either. i take the same attitude towards religion as i do to most thing- if people are religious thats there business and its no concern of mine. i didn't appreciate the prayer at the beginning of the lecture- infact it made me rather mad. i dont force anyone to get involved with my hobbies/interest/life so i dont appreciate being forced to hear a prayer. obviously, i didnt have to bow my head in silence, utter arhem or join in but i thogu the way in which the prayer was spoken into the mike and without consulting anyone was wrong. i felt forced to hear his relgion- and i didnt even understand what relgion that was as we hadnt been informed. if people go to church and prayer, pray in their homes, in their head thats fine. i think people can be free to pray on the bus, even kneel down to do so if they choose but i dont want to hear their private mumblings- thats just it, it should be private. my big issues with relgion is that i feel some are hypocritical and contradict themselves. also i can not get over the "suffering" debate. if there is a god how can he allow so much suffering to innocent people whilst murderers walk free. and yes god gave us free will, and yes we created the justice system. but even so. hurricanes/ thunderstorms/ natural disaster take lives. im dont intend to insult anyones religion or faith- believe what you like. but please dont expect me to. i found a debate about the suffering argument:
